The Author

Dr Tuckfield has been teaching Latin since 1988, at Brighton Grammar and Camberwell Grammar Schools in Melbourne, Australia and Stamford School in England, and is a past Head of Department and Curriculum Co-ordinator.  He holds a doctorate from the University of Melbourne’s Graduate School of Education investigating language learning in Victorian Independent Schools. 

Dr Tuckfield has designed Latin curriculum at a state and federal level and worked closely with ACARA and the VCAA on several projects. He has led Latin in Victoria through roles in the Classical Association of Victoria and as well as running conferences he teaches trainee Latin teachers for the University of Melbourne. 

In 2019 he was appointed an Honorary Fellow of the Melbourne Graduate School of Education.
